Douglas Petty

Dr. Douglas Petty grew up in Indiana, but moved to the beautiful state of Colorado in 2016 to pursue a Master’s degree in virology at the University of Northern Colorado. While completing his graduate work, Dr. Petty gained hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant at a small animal general practice in Longmont. This role ignited his passion for working closely with clients to provide compassionate care for their pets.

After completing his graduate degree, Dr. Petty applied to the Colorado State University (CSU) Doctor of veterinary medicine program. He joins Huron Animal Hospital after graduating with his DVM from CSU in 2024. His specialty interests in veterinary medicine include cardiology, general surgery, and dentistry.

In his spare time, Dr. Petty enjoys climbing, hiking, playing videogames, and spending time outside with his fiancé and their two rescue dogs, Dori and Luna. He also enjoys biking around with friends and family to the local breweries in Fort Collins.
